Yes, This Is For Me

What Happens on the Night

We have designed the evening around one goal: helping you meet people you actually want to see again.

Speed Friending

Six minutes with someone new. Then another six. Then another. By the end you will have spoken to more people than in two months of going out on your own.

🏆

Tribe Games

Friendly team activities with people from your part of London. You will probably lose. You will probably not care. You will definitely remember the people you played with.

🗣

Real London Stories

People who moved here and made it work. What they wish they had known on day one. No polished speeches, no highlight reels. Just honest accounts of how it actually went.

🍽

Food and Conversation

Dinner around a table with people you have just met. It is more comfortable than it sounds, and it is where most of the best conversations of the evening happen.

Faith and Community

A short message from The New Church about faith, purpose and belonging in London. No pressure to agree. No hard sell. Something honest to think about on the way home.

Questions

Is the event free?

Yes. Register your interest on this page. There is no ticket price and no booking fee. Food and drinks are included on the night.

Who is the event for?

Anyone who has moved to London recently and has not yet found their people. You do not need to have arrived in the last three to six months. If you are new to London and still finding your feet, this evening is for you.

Do I need to be a Christian?

No. Welcome to London is hosted by The New Church and will include a short message about faith, purpose and belonging in London. You are welcome here whatever your beliefs.

Can I come on my own?

Most people do. The evening is designed for people who do not already know everyone in the room. Coming alone is completely normal here. The format makes it easy to meet people from the first moment you walk in.

What happens during speed friending?

You sit across from someone new for about six minutes, have a conversation, then move on to the next person. It sounds formal. It does not feel formal. Most people say it is the best part of the evening.

Will food be provided?

Yes. Food and drinks are included. Please note any dietary requirements in the form and we will make sure you are catered for.

What should I wear?

Whatever you would wear to a relaxed dinner with people you like. Smart casual is a good guide. You do not need to dress up.

How long is the event?

The main event runs for about three hours. There is informal networking afterwards for those who want to stay longer.

Can I bring a friend?

Yes. They can register their interest on this page too. If they have also moved to London recently, they will find the evening useful.

What is a Tribe?

A Tribe is a local community of people who live in the same part of London. The New Church runs Tribes across the city. The evening helps connect you with people from your area so you have somewhere to belong after the event, not just during it.

Your people are already in the room.

They moved here for the same reasons you did. They have the same feeling you do. They just do not know how to find each other yet. This is how.
